Las Vegas :)

Well better late than never, right? Early August of 2011 we had our first grown up trip together. We had started planning our trip earlier that year, after MUCH deliberation we decided Las Vegas would be a good trip for us. It took a little convincing for me, I am just not the Vegas type. Boy was I was wrong! I had a BLAST! TJ has wanted to go to Vegas for the longest time, and tells me on a weekly basis that he wants to go back.

We stayed at Planet Hollywood. I don't think we could have picked a better hotel for the two of us. TJ loved the casino that was a whopping 30 seconds from our room, while I enjoyed the TONS of shops that were about 60 seconds from our room. Win win for the both of us.

Most mornings I was up early and was out walking around the strip before the excruciating sun came out and fried us. TJ didn't come to life until closer to noon most days. So I was able to have some "me time" and enjoy the things TJ was less interested in. This went both ways though. I am one of those people who needs a FULL night of sleep or I will become cranky or sick. For this reason I was in the room relaxing around midnight almost every night. This gave TJ his "me time"! He kicks butt at Blackjack! So he would usually play once I was chilling out in the room like the grandma that I am. HA. I think that having our own time throughout the week was amazing for our vacation. :)

While we had our own time a couple hours out of the day, we had a BLAST together! I can't even begin to talk about everything we did. We were going FULL blast sun up to sun down, loving every second of our vacation together.

We did a lot of shopping on the strip, in the hotels but most of all at the outlet malls. AH, I could live in some of those malls. I am SO happy that I have a good shopping buddy, I'm pretty sure TJ likes shopping more than me most days. I picked me a good one. ;)

I'm not much of a gambler, but TJ is pretty good at it. I tend to stick close to the penny slots, I made the same $50 last me ALL week. That is the extent of my gambling HA. TJ is better that me at gambling for sure! He dominated blackjack, played a little poker, and occasionally joined me at the slot machines.

Last but certainly not least... THE FOOD! Oh my goodness, I have never been to so many delicious restaurants in such a close area. We went off of a lot of recommendations and chose a few random places. Hands down our favorite place to eat the entire week was Mesa Grill. It is Bobby Flay's restaurant in Cesar's Palace, TO DIE FOR! :)

I didn't have the awesome camera that I have now when we were in Vegas. So most of the pictures are taken on either our phones or a little digital camera. But at least we documented some fun memories!

Towards the end of the trip we ventured down the strip to the aquarium in Mandalay Bay Hotel. The little kid came out in TJ, it was too funny. We loved it!

Heaven forbid we take a serious picture HA. We were total tourists in The Bellagio! I found myself oohing & awwing over everything. :)

Home sweet home for the week.

Prime example of how big of a dork I was in The Bellagio. It was just SO beautiful!

This was us on top of the Eiffel Tower, I was petrified at first. But once I loosened up. We really enjoyed it and got some wonderful pictures of Las Vegas.

AH! Ok, so I get that these guys are totally nuts but I LOVED taking my picture with all of them. Not to mention they were so funny! Nothing like having Bumblebee hitting on your AND your boyfriend.

More of the fabulous Bellagio

Oh, we found this guy our last night in Vegas and he was a hoot. Very talented, by far the funniest guy we saw all week on the strip. :)

Isn't it pretty!

Gotta love those double decker buses! We were the only ones on it this particular day, it felt like we were on our own little tour of Las Vegas.

Me and our BFF.

This is the casino that was just around the corner from our room. It ended up being my favorite casino through out the entire week. :)

Oh Vegas, keeping it classy! Goodness..

AH so pretty at night! :)

Hehe, ya.. we sure did love them! Especially TJ.

No big surprise what I enjoyed on our vacation! I was obsessed with all of the huge frozen drinks in the crazy cups the first 2 days. I got burned out on them FAST though. Too much sugar, but they kept me cool in that desert heat!

Getting ready to go all the way up to the top.

My dream is to stay here the next time we go. We had the perfect view of the water show from our hotel room. I must have watched it 20 times over the course of the week!

To wrap it all up, we had such a blast on our first grown up vacation together. I can't wait until we have our next vacation. Also looking forward to go back to Vegas. Maybe for bachelor / bachelorette parties? ;) Wishful thinking!
